I don't even know where to begin with this post. Paris is beautiful. The such-detailed architecture, the way everywhere you go there's Parisians leisurely lounging under the sun, and the beauty of the many perfectly-kept flower gardens. Paris stole my heart and I cannot wait to return.
Day 1 we started off with a picnic on the lawn in front of the Eiffel Tower with the sun shining, the famous landmark just 50 metres or so in front of us and a fresh, juicy watermelon in my hands - I truly felt like I was in a scene from a movie.
We then headed up towards the Arc de Triomphe, and then worked our way back down to the river via the Champs-Élysées - one of the most famous shopping streets in the world. Amongst the beautifully-designed stone buildings and symmetrically aligned trees, the one thing that stood out to me about this iconic street was the lack of litter! Let's be honest, Oxford Street can be a bit of a mess - with the McDonalds wrappers, Primark bags and chewing gum all over the place (this combined with it always being mega overcrowded), it doesn't even compare to the prim, spacious streets of Paris.
By this point, it was already 6pm so we took a quick trip to the Louvre Museum - home to the Mona Lisa and many more famous paintings - before finding a Mexican restaurant to eat in.
The day ended at our hotel rooftop bar, where we drank cocktails and smoothies whilst looking out onto 'the City of Light' - seeing the Eiffel Tower all lit up at night truly was incredible.
